An absolute rule for Oxbridge applicants is to become thoroughly acquainted with the requirements of the chosen course. Key components to consider include:

Academic Requirements

Confirm the qualifications and grades necessary for eligibility.

Admissions Tests

Many Oxbridge courses require additional assessments, such as the TSA, BMAT, and subject-specific tests.

Written Work Submission

Many applicants must submit examples of schoolwork, ideally marked by a teacher.

College-Specific Requirements

Certain colleges may have unique criteria for admissions.

The UCAS Application Process

Register

Create a UCAS account, choosing a username, password, and providing basic information.

Personal Details

Complete your personal information, noting any funding, residential status, special needs, or disabilities.

Course Selection

You may select up to five courses, but you cannot apply to both Oxford and Cambridge.

Personal Statement

A critical component of the UCAS form that showcases your suitability and passion for your chosen subject.

Crafting a Strong Personal Statement

Additional Application Components

Cambridge’s Supplementary Application Questionnaire (SAQ)

Cambridge applicants must submit an SAQ one week after the UCAS deadline.

Required for overseas students and organ scholarship applicants.

Oxford’s Choral and Organ Scholarship Applications

Oxford applicants for choral or organ scholarships must submit an additional form by 1st September.
